Rethink EastLink is a community group made up of dedicated individuals from across Perth Hills. In July 2021 we teamed up with the mission to research, inform and communicate the irreparable harm that will result to the environment, heritage, health, and communities if the proposed EastLink WA Highway is built.
We have initiated this grassroots campaign to represent the community in opposing the construction of EastLink WA and to ultimately ensure this proposal is declared permanently untenable. As a community-based organisation, we care about our members and all the people in the area. We all choose to live together in these idyllic rural communities and want to preserve it for our children and future generations. This planned four-lane heavy vehicle route will impact livability for locals in West Swan, Middle Swan, Stratton, Red Hill, Jane Brook, Gidgegannup, Chidlow, Wooroloo, Wundowie, Bakers Hills, Clackline and surrounds.
Rethink EastLink are also aware that the world has changed enormously over the past few years due to COVID-19, and likely our community will have other things on their mind. But EastLink WA planning and development has not paused, and it is evident that we need to act now for the benefit of the future! If you are having difficulties accessing information, research or communication on how EastLink WA will impact you, please let us know and we will try to help you out. You are not alone! Together is a wonderful place to be, just like our beautiful Perth Hills.
